NOTE - Branch committee positions [Branch Rule 12]
A copy of APESMA Rules is available in the ‘Members Only’ section at www.apesma.asn.au Prospective candidates should familiarise themselves with Branch Rule 12 and in particular the following:
12.1.5 A member may contest more than one position in an election, but can hold only one position on an individual Branch or Division Committee. A member may hold multiple positions if each position is on different Branch and Division Committees. The order of filling Branch Committee positions shall be scientists, non-engineers, non-reserved positions and then women.
12.1.6 A candidate needs to submit a nomination form for each Branch or Division Committee election they are standing in. In the case of a Branch Committee election, the Returning Officer will place the candidate into the ballot for each position they are eligible according to the information in the Branch Register.

- Australian Broadcasting Corporation Senior Executives Division (4)
- Architects Division (6)
- Transport Division (8)
- Managers and Professionals Division (8)
- Australian Government Division (9)
- Collieries Staff Division (11) [The Collieries Staff Division Committee of Management shall comprise one member elected by and from each of the Districts of the Division as specified in the Supplementary Rules of the Division.]
Pharmacists Division elected by and from members resident in the following areas:
- New South Wales (2)
- Queensland (2)
- South Australia (2)
- Victoria (2)
- Australian Capital Territory (1)
- Tasmania (1)
- Total Membership of the Division (4)
Divisional Offices as listed to be elected from each of the following Divisions:
Division President, Division Vice-President, Division Secretary, Division Treasurer from each of:
- Local Government Engineers Association (NSW) Division
- Telstra & Australia Post Senior Managers Division
- ABC Senior Executives Division
- Architects Division
- Transport Division
Nominations
Nominations, which must be in writing, may be made at any time from 24 September 2008. They must reach my office or postal address by NOT LATER THAN 12 noon (Melbourne local time) on Wednesday, 15 October 2008.
Nominations cannot be withdrawn after this time.
Nomination Forms are available from me, or the office of the Association. The use of these forms is not compulsory providing nominations comply with the rules of the Association.
Candidates statements
14.1.3 Every nominee may provide with their nomination information on age, employer and position and a brief statement of Organisation experience and/or objectives intended to be pursued if elected. Such a statement shall be limited to one hundred words. This statement shall be distributed with the ballot papers.
Statements may be emailed to tony.king@aec.gov.au and must reach me no later than the close of nominations. Late statements will not be distributed with the ballot papers.

If a ballot is necessary, it will open on 7 November 2008 and close at 4:00pm (Melbourne local time) on Friday, 28 November 2008.
Members should notify the Association of any change of address.
A copy of the AEC’s election report can be obtained from the organisation or from me after the completion of the election.
