Deadline to enrol to vote in the Lyne by-election
The AEC Divisional Returning Officer for Lyne, Vicki Holman, said today any Australian citizen aged 18 years and over who is not enrolled must get a completed enrolment form to the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) today.
Electors only need to complete one enrolment form to enrol or update your details for the Lyne by-election being held on Saturday 6 September and the NSW local council elections being held on Saturday 13 September.
There is a roll deadline for both events today, Monday 4 August 2008:

- the deadline for people not already on the electoral roll is 8pm for the Lyne by-election.
“We are urging every eligible elector who may not be enrolled, especially anyone who has turned 18 or become a citizen since the federal election last year, to check they are correctly enrolled,” said Ms Holman.
Enrolment forms can be downloaded from www.aec.gov.au and are available at any Australia Post outlet or AEC office as well as any Medicare or Centrelink office.
Completed enrolment forms can be handed into the AEC office at Shop 4, Manning Arcade, 20 Manning St, Taree; faxed to (02) 6551 0158; or scan and email it to LYNE@aec.gov.au.
