Tips on how to address the Selection Criteria

The key to addressing the Selection Criteria is to demonstrate your capability by using specific examples drawn from your experience. You need to demonstrate to the selection team that you have the ability or potential to do the job.

The following dot points for the Selection Criteria elements have been designed to ensure you are addressing each criteria correctly.

Please ensure that you write no more than one page per criteria.

  1.  Achieves Results: Proven ability to monitor own progress and make effective use of personal capabilities.

    This may include the ability to:
    • adapt, remain flexible and respond positively to change;
    • research and analyse information and suggest improvements;
    • take responsibility for managing work loads; and
    • display leadership potential.
  2. Supports Productive Working Relationships: Capacity to build and maintain positive relationships with team members and clients.

    This may include the ability to:
    • actively listen to others and communicate with influence;
    • understand and value diversity in the workplace; and
    • identify learning opportunities and encourage the growth of others.
  3. Displays Personal Drive and Integrity: Proven commitment to ensuring organisational and personal goals are met.

    This may include the ability to:
    • act professionally at all times and operate within legal requirements and public expectations;
    • acknowledge mistakes and seek guidance and feedback as required;
    • commit to ensure organisational and personal goals are met; and
    • work as directed to achieve objectives.
